Safety for our students on the internet is a concern, not only at school where a content filter blocks most all of the objectionable content from our students, but at home where many students are using instant messenger, blogging and other forms of digital communication without always realizing the dangers. As a result we are posting links to outside sources with information available for students and parents to become more informed consumers. The following sites are by no means the only sites with information about internet safety. If you have further concerns or need more information please contact koneill@esu3.org with questions. Many of our students at Gretna Public Schools already are using instant messenger or online blogs at places like Xanga.com or MySpace.com to create online communities to communicate with each other. This information is intended to help those students and parents who choose to communicate in this fashion to do so safely.
