Gretna Public Schools Foundation

The Gretna Public Schools Foundation was established in October of 1990 to enhance the school's educational quality for the benefit of students and residents of the Gretna School District.
The Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization whose purpose is to be the connecting link between those who wish to give of their resources for the betterment of our schools and the children of the community who would be the beneficiaries of that generosity.
The Foundation is guided by a Board of Directors who meet 6 times each year. Programs supported by the Foundation can be as numerous and varied as the mind can imagine.
The foundation proudly provides assistance for high school students who are seeking assistance for dual credit courses, they also provide thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating seniors. In the past the board raised money to help put more books in school libraries and technology updates in all buildings. One of the goals for the coming school year is to provide classroom grants to help enhance learning experiences for all children.
Gretna Kids Connection is a part of the operation of the Foundation. It provides affordable before- and after-school care for children within Gretna Public Schools. It also maintains a summer program.
