KIDS CONNECTION is the Gretna Public Schools before and after school age childcare program operated by the Gretna Public Schools Foundation.  Gretna KIDS CONNECTION is part of the Foundation's commitment to enhance the school's educational quality for the benefit of students and residents of the Gretna School District.

What do we do?

KIDS CONNECTION provides childcare in a familiar setting, offering physical/outside play, arts and crafts, table games, reading or story telling, music, drama, films, free choice time and the opportunity to complete school assignments.  KIDS CONNECTION is licensed by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Where are we located?

KIDS CONNECTION is located in all of our elementary buildings.  Designated sites will be available on in-service days and snow days.  A schedule will be available at a later date for the entire school year that lists the dates of consolidation and the location.

GPS District Wide Census

May 2009

Please select the link: Gretna Public School District Census to submit your annual census information to the Gretna Public Schools Superintendent's Office As Soon As Possible or by June 12, 2009.

We ask for your cooperation in completing this Annual Census as soon as possible.  Even if you do not have children or your children are young, please take the time to submit your information for district informational mailings.  State Laws’ 79-528(1), 79-524, and 79-578 require us to gather the number of children in the school district.  Using the age of the child as of June 30, the district must gather a list of children in the district from birth through twenty.  In July, the district must file with the State Department of Education the number of children ages five through eighteen. This information is used by the state as part of the formula to determine the amount of state funds received by the school district.  It is also used to make future projections of enrollment that are so essential in a growing community such as Gretna.

College students that live at home during the summer and are age twenty or less on June 30, 2009, should be listed.  Married couples that are age twenty or less on June 30, 2009 should also be listed.   Even if you are moving this summer, please submit your census information with the moving date in the comments section.  If you happen to know who is moving into your home, we would appreciate that information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jean Anderson at 332-3265 at the Gretna Public Schools Administration Office.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kevin M. Riley

Superintendent
